let's talk self-confidence...

hippE monday y'all!

may this week be the best week of your life!

so right quick, can we talk self-confidence?

personally, i don't consider myself to have low self-esteem or lack self-confidence, however, i do have days that i struggle.

some days i don't feel as pretty, or as sexy, or as smart, and i'm sure you have had those days too, some more than others. but i just want you guys to know that you are not alone in this self-confidence struggle, ya girl has to battle too. little things can make or break our confidence level on any given day. the solution? fight back with these confidence-boosting tips!

one. stay positive and kill the negativity

read uplifting books, listen to uplifting music, follow uplifting people on social media. whatever you put in, is what you will get out. what you put your attention on, becomes more real. focus on what you want to create and what makes you happy. forget the negativity. this may mean stop watching the news, avoid friends who are whiners and complainers, just walk away. your happiness is worth it. your sanity is worth it.

two. nobody compares to you, stop comparing.

y'all, i can’t express this enough! i am guilty of it and i know you are too. swiping our self-confidence down the drain.... all on instagram and facebook envying the next persons new car, new body, new house, and the list goes on. stop it! half of the stuff we see on social media isn't as glamorous as it looks anyway. focus on yourself, not the other people around you, no matter if they are more or less successful. compare yourself to yourself. improve yourself and see how you grow and become a more successful, more confident, and happier person. coke ain't worried about pepsi!

three. be you, unapologetically

there's only one you, so why be like someone else? we must live our lives doing what feels right to us, not what someone else thinks we should do. it’s cool to listen to advice, but at the end of the day, make the decision that feels best for you. don't be a people pleaser, please yourself. you are responsible for your own happiness. make yourself a priority, not an option.

four. accept your flaws there's plenty of things i don't like about myself. i don't like my tummy, i don't like my large breast, i don't like my fat feet, i don't like my short legs, and this list can go on and on... but when we realize that we are made in God's image and he made us just the way he wanted us to be, why complain?!? perfectionism doesn't exist. perfection is neither a possibility nor a necessity. nobody has ever been perfect, and nobody ever will be. imperfections only show that you’re human – not that there is something wrong with you. i have learned to embrace my flaws and make them work for me!

five. be good to yourself.

you know when you first meet a new love interest, you go over and beyond to get to know them. what they like, what they don't like, their goals and dreams, etc. you must do the same for yourself. date yourself. spend time with yourself. invest that same time and energy into yourself. some of us are out here loving strangers, because we don't even know who we really are. fall in love with the real you, you'd be surprise how dope you really are.

six. give genuine compliments when you take the time to compliment others, it demonstrates that you feel good enough about yourself to give positive feedback to others. the compliments should always be genuine and honest. you never know what a simple compliment can do for someone. by adopting the necessary mindset, not only will you find positives in others, but you will start to see more positives in every area of your life. as you do this, you realize that your life is in way better shape than you thought. as a result, your self-confidence grows! so challenge yourself to compliment at least one person every day that you don’t know. on the street or on social media, just make sure its genuine.

we are in this together! feel free to leave a comment on a way that you boost your self-confidence. that's all i got for now. just know that self-love is the best love. love you guys!
